ASPiRE announced this week the season two premiere of its popular original weekly “clean stand-up” comedy/reality series, “Laff Mobb’s We Got Next” (#WeGotNext), hosted by Co-Creator and Co-Executive Producer of “Def Comedy Jam” Bob Sumner.  Filmed before live audiences at the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood, CA, “Laff Mobb’s We Got Next” continues to deliver a new twist on stand-up, featuring 16 new voices of African-American stand-up comedy in eight 30-minute episodes this season.  Produced by Laff Mobb and New Wave Entertainment, the new season of “Laff Mobb’s We Got Next” will premiere on Wednesday, February 4 at 10 p.m. EST.

“Laff Mobb’s We Got Next” is an entertaining half-hour where reality meets clean comedy via performances and profiles of the next generation of great African-American comics.  In Season Two, the weekly series will take viewers back into the “Clean Comedy Lab” of Bob Sumner (co-creator/co-executive producer of HBO’s “Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam”) as he sets out to answer the question, “Who’s Next?”  Each week, Sumner decides which of the 16 comedians from his pool of talent is ready to be in the spotlight.  When selected, DJ Mike Smoove introduces each comic to the stage to perform.  Sumner sits down with each comic before they take the stage and viewers hear why doing clean comedy is so important and how it affects their lives.

“We are proud to provide a place on television where the next generation of African-American comics can do clean comedy that is hilarious and entertaining.  We are extremely excited to be back in the lab with Bob Sumner, Laff Mobb and New Wave Entertainment,” said Paul Butler, general manager, ASPIRE.

“After discovering some terrific talent in season one, I’m back in front of the cameras this season to present ‘Who’s Next’ in 2015, and introduce the next generation of comedians to the world,” said Co-Creator and Co-Executive Producer of “Def Comedy Jam” Bob Sumner.  “I can’t wait for ASPiRE viewers to meet and laugh with all 16 of these phenomenally funny stand-up comedians.”
