It’s been a while since we’ve heard the sweet, melodic sounds of R&B chanteuse, Jazmine Sullivan but wait no more. After a much needed hiatus from the industry, the singer/songwriter is back with a new album and a new video for her current single, “Forever Don’t Last.”

In the song, Sullivan questions why her last relationship didn’t work out despite having high hopes and positive aspirations. However, she is quickly reminded of the painful scars she endured and realizes that some people are not worth the time or tears.

Still think about the good times we had
And how you used to make me laugh
But, baby, I know most times we were miserable
So every time I wanna call, baby, what always helps
Is when I think of the pain, and I realize
I’m better off by myself
