Ageless rock star and fashion icon, Lenny Kravitz is feeling really good about life with no plans of slowing down. The 50-year-old musician, interior designer and jet setter is gearing up to hit the road in promotion of his 10th album, Strut. He recently sat down with UPTOWN to dish about his musical career; his new record label, Roxie Records; his unisex fashion line and his desire to jump the broom and have more children. He’s also rocking some cool looks from Saint Laurent in photos by Cliff Watts and styling by Gabriella Serra.
Check out his fashion spread below as well as a few excerpts from the interview:

ON BEING GRATEFUL…
“I thank God every day for my health,” says Kravitz, whose mother, The Jeffersons star Roxie Roker, died of breast cancer, and father, Sy Kravitz, died of leukemia. “[Health], for me, is where it begins and the rest is gravy. Also [I’m thankful] for being disciplined,” he adds. “As they say in the Bahamas, there are a lot of talented people living under the bridge. A lot of folks driving cabs, fishing and working in the streets can act and sing better than people getting Oscars and Grammys.”

ON HIS ROCK STAR STYLE…
“What I like are clothes that are classic rock and roll,” explains the Saint Laurent disciple. “Saint Laurent has that retro inspiration but its cleaned up and made into modern fashion. Their clothes fit my silhouette. They’re clothes that feel like me.”

ON LIFE AFTER 50…
“I’m more excited about life than I ever have been,” he says. “I feel blessed to have a really great past behind me but what’s wonderful is that I’m still young and I feel like where I’m about to go will eclipse everything. Like, that was a great education but now I’m equipped to come into myself in a deeper way.”

ON WHAT HIS FUTURE HOLDS…
“I feel like whatever I’m supposed to do or get or achieve will happen,” he says, “and what’s not mine is not mine to have. My grandfather used to tell me when I was a kid, ‘Nobody can take anything away from you that is yours.’ He also used to say, ‘the best is yet to come.’”
