LeToya Luckett continues to flex her acting muscles. The former Destiny’s Child singer is starring in UP’s new romantic comedy, Heavenly Match, which premiers on Sunday, October 12 at 7 p.m.

In the movie, Luckett plays Reverend LaRonda “Ronnie” Mason, the best friend of Reverend Casey Hart, who must choose between her love for the ministry or her desire to seek other career opportunities. Hart must also figure out how to deal with some very inconvenient feelings she is having for her long-time friend, fellow seminary school classmate, and verbal sparring partner, David Swenson.  Heavenly Match  also stars Samaire Armstrong, Brendan Penny, Bill Dow, Kevin O’Grady, Jody Thompson, Leanne Lapp and Beth Pattilo.

“Heavenly Match is a fun, relatable romantic comedy about finding your place in life as seen through the eyes of a little-explored character on television – a female minister,” Barbara Fisher, svp, original programming, UP. “Having gained new fans this year through ‘Resurrection,’ actress Samaire Armstrong is fearless here as the doubting Reverend Casey Hart.”

In addition to Heavenly Match, Luckett is also starring in Lifetime’s Seasons of Love with Taraji P. Henson and Gladys Knight and the HBO series, Ballers  with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
