Keke Palmer becomes Broadway’s First Black Cinderella #winning

Keke Palmer has achieved yet another major milestone in her career.  The twenty-year-old actress, singer and talk show host will star as Cinderella on Broadway this September, making her the first African-American to do so on the Great White Way. The exciting news was announced this afternoon.

“I don’t really celebrate,” she told Vanity Fair. “And besides, I still don’t believe it is real!”

Palmer has some really big shoes to fill considering Grammy-winning singer and actress Brandy Norwood, portrayed Cinderella in the 1997 TV version of the fairytale alongside Whitney Houston. However, Palmer says she is up for the challenge and can’t wait to perform in front of the live audience.

“Thinking about that [audience] gives me energy,” she told V.F. Hollywood. “Seeing that many people in the audience, who you can’t recognize, that’s what excites you and gets you pumped.”

Reportedly, Keke will begin her four week rehearsal this month.

Stay tuned…
