FIRST LOOK at David Oyelowo as MLK in ‘Selma’

FIRST LOOK images from Ava DuVernay’s upcoming civil rights epic, Selma  have been released and we can’t wait for the film’s debut at the end of the year.

One of the exclusive photos features Oscar-nominated actor David Oyelowo as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. embracing his beloved wife and movement partner, Coretta Scott King, played by Sparkle  actress Carmen Ejogo.

As previously reported, Selma  chronicles the march African-Americans made from Selma to Montgomery in 1965 in order to gain voting rights. The movie, which is co-produced by Oprah Winfrey, features an all-star cast including Tom Wilkinson as President Lyndon B. Johnson, Andre Holland as Andrew Young, Omar J. Dorsey as James Orange, Dylan Baker as J. Edgar Hoover, Colman Domingo as Ralph David Abernathy, Ledisi as Mahalia Jackson, Common as James Bevel and Winfrey as Annie Lee Cooper.

Selma  opens to limited theaters on December 25 and nationwide on January 9, 2015.
