Winfrey with Epps and Daniels

Media mogul, Oprah Winfrey will star alongside Mike Epps in the upcoming biopic about comedy legend, Richard Pryor. Earlier this week, we reported that Winfrey had posted a photo of her with Epps and Lee Daniels announcing Epps casting as Pryor. However, it was unclear what Winfrey’s part was in the production until now. Winfrey will be portraying Pryor’s grandmother, Marie Carter, who raised him after his mother, Gertrude, walk out on her family. Pryor eventually grew in a brothel that was run by his grandmother.  No word yet on any other casting for the film. [ETonline.com]
