LIFT: Men.Dance.Life is celebrating five seasons as Atlanta’s most exciting male dance company in the southeast. Since its founding in 2009 by Terry Slade and Daryl L. Foster, LIFT has provided a venue and choreographic support for all male dancers. It also features a variety of cutting-edge techniques and styles presented at each performance and this year is no different. For 2014, the men of LIFT will wow audiences as they seamlessly transition from contemporary to Hip Hop.
The company’s theme is COMMUNITY and each piece explores the roles that men play not only in the dance community but the community at large. Guest choreographers include Allyne Gartrell, Corian Ellisor, Gary Beaford, Jeremy Green and Lauren Debrick. There will also be a premiere of new work by Foster, about the power that a community has in keeping a fellow brother connected and will be set to the classic jazz brilliance of Miles Davis.
The one-night only performance takes place on Saturday, July 26 at 8:00 p.m. at the Alliance Theatre – Atlanta.
