Congratulations are in order to Sr. VP of Production for Columbia Pictures, DeVon Franklin. He recently inked a first-look production deal with Sony.  According to VARIETY, Franklin and his production company, Franklin Entertainment will develop and produce television and film projects that will appeal to both faith-based and urban markets.

“This is a plan tailor-made for DeVon’s specific skill set and interests,” Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures told Variety. “It’s clear that his ambition was to get closer to the product and maintain his speaking and writing career.”
