Rolling Stone is reporting that legendary R&B and soul music singer, Bobby Womack has passed away. According to his rep, he passed away on Friday at the age of 70. The cause of death is unknown, even though he suffered a series of health issues throughout the last few decades of his life including diabetes, pneumonia, colon cancer and most recently, early signs of Alzheimer’s disease.

Reportedly, Womack was in the process of recording a new album tentatively titled XL, with contributions from such iconic artists as Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart and Snoop Dogg.
