Atlanta’s Suite Lounge was filled with angelic harmonies Tuesday night as rising girl group, Havok Jones saluted TLC, Xscape, Destiny’s Child, EnVogue, SWV and 702. The event was appropriately titled  “Inaugural  Homage: A Tribute to 90′s Girl Groups” and was a preview of the ladies new EP which includes covers of these R&B group’s classic songs.  The event was sponsored in part by ASCAP & Voscato and was hosted by Sister2Sister Magazine  founder Jamie Foster Brown.

Havok Jones—Kea Aleis, MaiDai, Aire B. and Neiko—opened their set with jaw dropping versions of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” and Xscape’s “Who Can I Run To?” The quartet’s hair-raising vocals and synchronized dance moves immediately caught the attention of veteran singers Kameelah Williams, LaTavia Roberson and Angie Stone.

After their performance, Brown conducted a Q&A session where the R&B Divas  “schooled” the girls about the numerous pitfalls of the music industry. Both Williams and Roberson also expressed the importance of the group writing their own music while Stone warned them about ‘outsiders’ negatively influencing their sisterly bond.

Look for Havok Jones to release their first EP this month with plans to debut their album this fall.  In the meantime, enjoy their latest single, “Where You At?
