Oscar winning-actress Lupita Nyong’o has been added the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII. The Kenyan beauty announced the big news on Monday via Facebook with following caption:
“I can finally say it out loud and proud: I’m going to a galaxy far far away!”
Nyong’o joins an eclectic mix of new and veteran actors including Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Gwendoline Christie as well as returning stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.
“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII,” Lucasfilm president and Episode VII producer Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
For months now, it has been rumored that PEOPLE’s “Most Beautiful Woman” would be a part of the Disney film. However, her role in the project still remains a mystery. What we do know is that filming has already started in various cities including London and Abu Dhabi.
Look for Star Wars: Episode VII to arrive in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
