A BIG congratulation goes out to my fraternity brother and friend Jason Woods, who recently dropped his debut single, “California.” A music vet, in his own right, Woods has provided background vocals for some of industry’s biggest including Grammy-winner Kelly Rowland and R&B crooner, Musiq SoulChild.
Wood has traveled the world over and most recently toured with the Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour as the company’s lead vocalist. A former Atlanta resident, Wood has now made California his home and told, ThisIsR&B, why the single works perfectly with his new West Coast vibe.
“This song is my ‘feel good’ anthem! I’ve been traveling to and from Cali for years before deciding to make it home. With every visit, had to be a trip to the beach. I had to put my feet in the sand and feel that breeze coming off of the ocean. For so many reasons being there just makes me appreciate life, and when Matthew [Writes] wrote this song, I related to it instantly…no matter where I am in the world or how I’m feeling, it brings a smile to my face because I really am living my dreams in California.”
