“Ain’t No Party Like a FORD Fusion Party ‘Cause a FORD Fusion Party Don’t Stop!”

Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending ATL’s “unofficial” Summer Kick-Off Jam presented by FORD Motor Company.  Appropriately titled, “The Take Flight Experience,” the invite-only soiree took place at the überly sexy Pilot’s Country Club on the grounds of the Peachtree-DeKalb Airport.

The four-hour dance party featured test drives, complimentary cocktails and cuisines, and music by DJ Mars.  Hosted by television and film actress, Keshia Knight-Pulliam, the evening also served as a way to re-introduce some of FORD’s signature vehicles including the Fusion and Mustang.

Keshia Knight P with FordFORD Atlanta Regional Sales Manager, Tim Witt was very excited to show off the new fleet of cars and their exclusive safety features.

“The Hybrid is the highest EPA in its segment with a number of best in class features, particularly safety. A lot of features you will find on the vehicles are typical of most luxury cars like park assist. It also has blind spot monitoring on the mirrors,” explains Witt.  “However, my favorite part of the vehicle is the optional inflatable rear seat belt. No one else—luxury or non-luxury—can offer that. It’s a patent feature that we have exclusively where the seat belt will inflate and protect the occupants if an accident occurs.”

Keshia, who has lived in Atlanta since graduating from Spelman College, said she was thrilled when the company offered her the hosting gig and was excited to align her non-profit, Kamp Kizzy, with the car giant.

“We all know that Ford is a staple brand but they also do a lot for the state of Georgia and particularly the Atlanta community.  So, to be in chorus with them and what they stand for was a no brainer,” says Pulliam.

Putting on an event of this magnitude was no easy feat for FORD.  So, to help spread the word, they recruited a few Atlanta Ambassadors including music industry executive, Shanti Das;  celebrity and entertainment consultant, Sheri Riley; radio personality and actress, Rashana Ali; music executive, Keinon Johnson;  and acclaimed sports agent, Chris Luchey.

The event was also attended by a number of ATL stars including Atlanta Exes Monyetta Shaw; former Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star DJ Traci Steel; RHOA Cynthia Bailey; R&B Divas LaTavia Roberson and Meelah Williams; Funk Jazz Kafe’ founder Jason Orr and radio personality, Joyce Littel.
