Ludacris to host the Billboard Music Awards

Billboard is reporting that Grammy-winning rapper and actor Ludacris will host the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. The show will broadcast live on ABC this Sunday, May 18 at 8 p.m. from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Ludacris will take to the Billboard stage while in the midst of filming his role in the highly anticipated Fast & Furious 7.  Joining him on the show is a laundry list of who’s who performers including Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Jason Durulo, Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus, John Legend, Pitbull, Shakira and a Michael Jackson world premiere experience.  Newly –revealed stars include Chrissy Teigen, Omar Epps and Shania Twain.

The two-hour pre-show will be hosted by Lance Bass and Jordin Sparks.

Ludacris is a Grammy, BET, Billboard and Viewer’s Choice award winning hip-hop star.  His phenomenal success has also crossed over into television and film earning acclaim for his role in Hustle & Flow and Screen Actors Guild & Critics Choice awards for his role in Crash.

On the Billboard Hot 100, he’s earned 18 top 10 singles — the third-most of any hip-hop artist in history after Jay Z (21) and Lil Wayne (19). Ludacris’ upcoming album, “Ludaversal,” is due out this fall.
