Come this fall, Viola Davis will star in her first full-time TV series role created especially for her by Shonda Rhimes titled, How to Get Away With Murder. The pilot, which was recently picked up for series by ABC, will air on Thursday nights right after Scandal at 10 p.m.
As previously reported, How to Get Away With Murder features Davis as Annalise Dewitt, a law professor and criminal defense attorney who is described as “brilliant, passionate, creative, charismatic and ruthless in the courtroom and the classroom. The character is an excellent manipulator of people, particularly her law students — five of whom she selects to work with her at the firm. Married to a psychology professor and having an affair that no one can know about, she calls her Criminal Law 100 class ‘How to Get Away With Murder.’”
The show also stars Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, Alfred Enoch, Karla Souza, Jack Falahee and Charlie Weber.
