In January, we reported that Broadway diva Condola Rashad was cast in an upcoming series for Fox titled, Hieroglyph. Well, the network has released its FIRST LOOK photo featuring the 27-year-old actress as Nefertari.
As previously reported, the Tony Award-winner will play the role of the legendary monarch (not to be confused with Nefertiti) and is being described as “a rare beauty who intimidates evens the strongest suitors…and she knows it.” The combination fantasy/reality follows a notorious thief who leaves prison to serve the Pharaoh played by Reece Ritchie.
Rounding out the cast is Travis Beacham, Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Miguel Sapochnik.
Rashad is the daughter of Tony winning actress, Phylicia Rashad and has appeared on Broadway in Romeo & Juliet and A Trip to Bountiful. She also appeared in the Lifetime remake of the classic 80’s film, Steel Magnolias.
