RC attends ‘UNCF An Evening of Stars’ (PHOTOS)

The 35th Annual UNCF An Evening of Stars was taped last night in Atlanta’s Boisfeuillet Jones Civic Center. The star-studded event is the organization’s biggest fundraiser and collects millions of dollars for its UNCF member Historically Black Colleges & Universities as well as UNCF scholarships and programs.  The show, which was previously held in Los Angeles, was moved to Atlanta and was hosted once again by comedic actor Anthony Anderson.

Many of entertainment’s biggest and brightest stars performed during the show including Jill Scott, Monica with the legendary Isley Brothers, YouTube sensation Spoken Reasons with Marsha Ambrosius and R&B newcomers Alice Smith, August Alsina and Sevyn Streeter.

There were also appearances by Cedric the Entertainer, Braxton Family Values  stars – Tamar, Trina and Towanda Braxton, DJ Drama, actress Demetria McKinney, actor-singer Mack Wilds, actress Salli Richardson-Whitfield and 106 & Park  host  Keshia Chanté.  Also spotted in the audience were singers Algebra and Kenny Lattimore, actor Brad James and CEO of BobbCat Films, Roger Bobb.

R&B heartthrobs Usher and Trey Songz presented scholarships on behalf of their foundations and Gospel superstar Ty Tribbett closed out the show with a “hand clapping, toe tapping” finale.

The telecast will air this Sunday, April 13 at 10 p.m. EST on BET.
