Lifetime’s adaptation of Terry McMillian’s NYT best-selling novel, A Day Late and A Dollar Short is set to debut on Saturday, April 19 at 8 p.m. EST. The film stars Oscar winning-actress Whoopi Goldberg and Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames.
A Day Late also features Mekhi Phifer, Kimberly Elise, Anika Noni Rose, Shanice Banton and Tichina Arnold.
As previously reported, the family drama follows Viola Price (Goldberg), the irascible matriarch who learns that her next asthma attack will likely kill her, and thus sets out to fix her broken family before she moves on to the next life.
The project reunites The View star with McMillan, having also co-starred opposite Angela Basset in the film adaptation of McMillan’s novel How Stella Got Her Groove Back.
In addition to starring in the film, Goldberg also served as the executive producer.
