In January, we posted a SNEAK PEEK of Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul, James Brown in the upcoming biopic, Get On Up.  Now more behind-the-scenes footage has been released in part by an interview conducted this week on The Today’s Show.  The producers of the film—Mick Jagger and Brian Grazer—chatted with the popular morning show program about their new passion project. Boseman also talked candidly about playing the legendary music star and learning his iconic dance moves.

As previously reported, Get on Up  is based on the incredible life story of James Brown. It gives a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods, while taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.

A number of A-List actors are starring in the film including Dan AcKroyd as Ben Bart, Viola Davis as Susie Brown, Octavia Spencer as Brown’s Aunt Honey, Jill Scott as one of Brown’s wives, Nelsan Ellis as Bobby Byrd, Tika Sumpter as Yvonne Fair, and Keith Robinson as Baby Roy.  New Edition’s front man Ralph E. Tresvant will be playing Sam Cook and Craig Robinson is playing Maceo Parker, according to Indie Wire.
