Fans of Grammy-nominated R&B vocalist Jazmine Sullivan can breath a sigh of relief. The “Holding You Down” singer is reportedly gearing up to release a new album later on this year. According to The Singers Room, the 26-year-old protégé of Missy Elliott is ending her musical hiatus and is going back to the studio to lay down some new tracks after threatening to leave the music industry back in 2011.
“It’s been awhile,” said Sullivan during her London show at KOKO. Reportedly, she sang some of her greatest hits and covered a few popular songs and even premiered a new single, titled “Masterpiece.
Sullivan shot to fame in 2008 with the release of her debut album, Fearless, which spawned the hit singles, “Need U Bad ” and “Bust Your Windows.” She later released a second album, Love Me Back, which received little acclaim. After that dismal release, Sullivan experienced a number of personal setbacks including a failed relationship that she claims was part of her reasoning for taking a break.
Now, she is back and ready to bless us with her amazing vocal talent and we can’t wait!
Stay tuned…
