When the NBA All-Star Game takes over New Orleans this weekend, fans will be raving about much more than the score of the game.

Serving as an opener for the game during player introductions,  Academy Award-nominee, Pharrell Williams, will be blazing the stage. Yep, I said Academy Award-nominee. Rapper, Pharrell was recently nominated for his song “Happy” from the Despicable Me 2 Soundtrack  and critics are saying he’s the front-runner for the award. Pharrell promises a few surprise guests and special moments during his All-Star performance. He’s also been tapped to perform his Oscar-nominated track, “Happy,” at the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2nd.

Following the controversy over being snubbed at the 2014 Grammys, Kendrick Lamar will bless the stage during the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest the day before the big game. Fans have often said the Slam Dunk Contest is even more exciting to watch than the game. Well, this year, the fans will definitely be thrilled – Kendrick gives an awesome live show!
