Oprah will pay tribute to Mandela at NAACP Image Awards + other presenters

The NAACP and TV One announced today that media maven Oprah Winfrey is scheduled to pay a special tribute to the late Nelson Mandela at this year’s telecast.  The big news comes on the heels of show producers announcing this year’s host, Anthony Anderson along with celebrity presenters including Lupita Nyong’o, Tyler Perry, Octavia Spencer, Michael Ealy and others.

They also announced today a second group of presenters including Idris Elba, Vin Diesel, Terry Crews, Nia Long, Naomie Harris, Morris Chestnut, Chadwick Boseman, Tyrese Gibson, Ed Asner and Ben Vereen.

As previously reported, this year’s show will salute the outstanding achievements of Forest Whitaker, Paris Barclay and Cheryl Boone Isaacs. There are also a number of nominees who are up for “Entertainer of the Year” including Beyoncé, Kevin Hart, Pharrell Williams, and Steve Harvey. Click here to place your vote.

The NAACP Image Awards  will air live on Saturday, February 22 beginning with a red carpet pre-show at 8 p.m. and then the award show at 9 p.m. EST on TV One.
