In other news…HIpHopDX is reporting that celebrated rap star Nas is currently in talks with Microsoft’s Xbox Entertainment Studios regarding a new half-hour television series tentatively titled, “Street Dreams.

Reportedly, the series will be based on the rapper’s life and will chronicle his rise to fame as an emcee in the Queensbridge projects in New York. The series will be written by Jonathan Levine and is being produced by indie-startup production house, Electric City Entertainment.  According to Deadline, Nas will contribute some writing and music to the show while his manager, Anthony Seleh, will serve as an executive producer.

The project comes at a good time for the Nas who is currently celebrating the 20th anniversary release of his iconic 1994 album, Illmatic. Nas also picked up this year’s VIBE Impact Award during Grammy Weekend. The annual award recognized him for his ‘immeasurable’ contributions to hip-hop and the indelible mark he has made in music history.

RC will keep you posted on both of these projects as news continues to develop.
