Fresh off the success of the Grammy-nominated single “A Little More Jesus” from an album that’s not even set to release until March of this year, Ms. Erica Campbell strikes gold with her new single “Help”. Campbell, most familiar to the world of music as half of the Grammy-winning duo Mary Mary, is staking her claim as a viable contributor to the new wave of Gospel music, and more importantly, music as a whole.
“Help”, the title track off the upcoming album, is not only raw and relatable, but it is candid and honest and strays away from much of the form-fed Gospel music that we’ve come to know. The video, directed by Bille Woodruff, known for his directorial efforts for such artists as Toni Braxton, Usher and the late Luther Vandross – among others, was able to capture the true essence of Erica’s vision by keeping the video crisp, clean and simple. To further seal the deal, Erica enlisted the talents of Gospel/Hip-Hop artist and Grammy Winner, LeCrae to provide an extra-packed punch.
The video premiered Monday (Feb. 10) via VH1.com and will be played at the top of every hour on the hour on VH1 Soul. Check your local cable listings for the channel.
