2014 Super Bowl Half-time performer Bruno Mars has been named Billboard’s  Artist of the Year.

According to THR, the Grammy winning singer-songwriter’s album, Unorthodox Jukebox  was No. 1 on eight of Billboard’s year-end charts including Hot 100 Artists and Top Overall Artists.

“It’s been an incredible year,” says manager Brandon Creed to Billboard.  “We definitely had goals going into this project to support the artist, his music and performance. But we tried to do everything for a purpose, nothing gratuitous. And we’re continuing to lay and build the foundation for him to evolve musically and continue to connect with the audience.”

In addition to the announcement, Mars has also added dates to his Moonshine Jungle World Tour. Reportedly, he will begin the second leg of the tour beginning in summer 2014, stopping in 38 cities including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Boston.

His current tour ends on December 29 and 31 at Las Vegas’ newest concert venue, The Chelsea.
