VH1: TLC Story was a ‘Fictionalized Portrayal’ + T-Boz & Chilli respond to Pebbles’ allegations

Ooh, the plot thickens!

Perri “Pebbles” Reid dropped a lot of bombs during her exclusive interview with Wendy Williams’ last week including accusations of Chilli sleeping with her-then husband L.A. Reid to T-Boz and Left Eye wanting Chilli out of the group. She also claimed that VH1 sent her a telegram apologizing and saying that the TLC biopic was not based on a true story but was a “fictionalized” portrayal.

According to Vibe Vixen, the music network chose not to delete scenes from the film but is now claiming that “the movie is a fictionalized portrayal of the development of TLC as told from the perspective of the members.”

This coming after Pebbles slammed the film’s negative portrayal of her as the group’s money-hungry manager and the network for “helping to promote an untruth.”  She has also threatened to pursue legal action against VH1 and says, “that all options are still out on the table.”

Meanwhile, T-Boz and Chilli have responded to Pebbles’ accusations from her interview and released the following statement:

“No member of TLC ever slept with or had sexual contact with LA Reid as Perri falsely accused Chilli of on ‘The Wendy Williams Show.’ In fact, Perri had falsely alleged the same thing happened with Tionne,” the statement reads. T-Boz then adds, “I would like to confirm that Perri Reid was the only person who ever suggested that Chilli leave TLC. Neither Lisa nor I ever wanted or suggested that.”

I guess we’ll have to wait and see what T-Boz and Chilli have to say about VH1’s new stance on the film.

RC will keep you posted as this story continues to develop.

What are your thoughts about the retraction from VH1?
