If this weekend’s box office numbers were any indication that errbody wanted to see The Best Man Holiday, then the film’s director Malcolm Lee shouldn’t have any problems selling tickets for another sequel.
THR is confirming that Lee will indeed return with a third installment to the Best Man franchise (the ending kind of sort of set us up for that) and is set to write, direct and produce the film with Sean Daniel. The Best Man Holiday opened very strong this weekend, bringing in $30.1 million dollars and grabbing the no. 2 position behind Thor: The Dark World.
The L.A. Times is also reporting that the film received a coveted average grade of A+ from moviegoers, according to market research firm CinemaScore. This superior grading places the movie in an elite club of films that have enjoyed long and fruitful box office runs, including Argo, 42, The Help, The King’s Speech, The Blind Side and Titanic.
Congrats once again to Malcolm Lee and The Best Man Holiday cast and crew. RC will definitely keep you posted on this story as it continues to develop.
Would you go and see The Best Man 3 ?
