The Pour It Up singer has officially nabbed her seventh number one hit on the UK charts thanks to the new Eminem single she’s featured on.
Rihanna joins Elvis Presley and The Beatles as one of just three acts to have scored a number one single over seven consecutive years. She also makes history with this accomplishment because she is now the first female artist to ever hold the record.
The pair last released Love the Way You Lie in 2010, which went on the become one of the UK’s biggest-selling single of all time, with more than 1.15 million copies sold.
The single marks the eight time both singers have had a UK number one. Eminem last went to the top of the charts in 2006 with Smack That featuring Akon.
Rihanna’s string of numbers ones across seven consecutive years include:
- “Diamonds” (2012)
- “We Found Love” (2011)
- “What’s My Name” (2010)
- “Run This Town” (2009)
- “Take A Bow” (2008)
- “Umbrella” (2007)
According to Billboard, Rihanna also ranks at No. 1 on Hot Tours with sales reported from her Diamonds world tour’s European jaunt that spanned nine weeks from late May through the end of July. Ticket sales from the summertime swing through 14 countries totaled more than $68 million from 34 performances.
