Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is definitely putting his money where his mouth is these days. The 40-something year-old actor recently held a fundraising event for the Trayvon Martin Foundation.

According to RO, the gathering was attended by a number of Foxx’s close celebrity friends including Russell Simmons, Marques Houston, Tank, Tyrese, Tyrin Turner and Lorenze Tate.  Congresswoman Maxine Waters and long -time actor and humanitarian Harry Belafonte also showed their support for the fundraiser that was attended by Trayvon’s parents and brother:  Tracy Martin, Sybrina Fulton and Jahvaris Fulton.

Reportedly, the family walked away with a six-figure donation from Simmons as well as a beautiful mural of Trayvon wearing his iconic hoodie.

Foxx has been a strong advocate of the Martin family and their foundation since the tragic incident occurred.  Not only did he participate in several peace rallies and walks but he also rocked numerous Trayvon T-shirts at award shows and other red carpet events.
