Tia Mowry-Hardict’s new comedy series Instant Mom  has been given the green light for a second season on Nick at Nite and NickMom. According to S&A, the series draws an average of 1.2 million viewers each week and will receive six additional episodes this first season. The big announcement was made on Friday by Nick’s President of Content Development and Production, Russell Hicks.

“In just a couple months since its debut, Instant Mom has resonated remarkably well with the Nick at Nite and NickMom audiences,” said Hicks. “We’re thrilled to witness its early success alongside See Dad Run and families enthusiastic about Tia and an undeniably charismatic cast.”

Instant Mom  stars Tia Mowry as Stephanie, a young party girl who trades in cosmos for carpools when she marries an older man, Charlie, played by Michael Boatman. Charlie is also the father to three kids played by Sydney Park, Tylen Williams and Damarr Calhoun. Stephanie slowly grows into her role as a full-time stepmom while struggling to maintain some sense of her fun-loving, slightly irresponsible life.  Rounding out the cast is veteran television and stage actress Sheryl Lee Ralph who plays Stephanie’s mother Maggie.
