Two of 2013’s most talked about African-American actors, Forest Whitaker and Chiwetel Ejiofor, appear on the December/January cover of EBONY magazine. The leading men share the coveted Power 100 issue and dish about “How Black Men Took Over Hollywood.”
Between Whitaker’s performances as Eugene Allen in Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Ejiofor’s as Solomon Northup in 12 Year’s a Slave and Michael B. Jordan as Oscar Grant in Fruitvale Station (we couldn’t forget him), 2013 has truly been a paramount year for Black actors and Black films everywhere. Not only did Whitaker and Ejiofor receive acclaim for their respective roles but they both left indelible marks in our minds about the courage of the human spirit and its unwillingness to never give up.
Wouldn’t you agree?
