Black Girls Rock  creator Beverly Bond is somewhere taking a “praise break” right about now.

The model/celebrity DJ has inked a five-year deal with BET to continue airing her hugely popular Black Girls Rock.  The show, which celebrates the extraordinary achievements of African American women, has become one of the network’s most anticipated award shows of the year along with the BET Awards, The Hip-Hop Awards, BET Honors and The Soul Train Awards.

Bond has also been tapped by the network to help develop additional programming. No word yet on what creative direction she will move in.

“In 2007, I attended the Black Girls Rock Awards at Lincoln Center in New York City and knew, instantly, how magical this movement would be on television,” BET president of music programming and specials Stephen Hill said. “We are excited and pleased to have inked an exclusive deal with Beverly Bond to produce Black Girls Rock on BET Networks for the next five years.”

Black Girls Rock  recently aired earlier this month on November 3 and reportedly delivered more than 2.7 million viewers to the network. This year’s honorees included Patti LaBelle, Queen Latifah, and Venus Williams with performances by Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland and Ledisi. The show was hosted by comedic actresses Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King.

Kudos once again to Beverly Bond…you are truly a black girl who rocks!
