Shadow and Act is reporting that Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard will star in a new indie film entitled Cardboard Boxer. The Knate Gwaltney film takes a look at a Los Angeles homeless man who becomes the target of rich teenagers who pay underprivileged men to fight each other.
So far the cast includes Thomas Haden Church, Boyd Holbrook, Rhys Wakefield and Macy Gray.
According to Wikipedia, L.A.’s “Skid Row” contains the largest population of homeless people in the United States. Reportedly, the city’s sidewalks are lined up with cardboard boxes, tents and shopping carts.
No word yet on what roles the actors will play in the film.
Howard can currently be seen in Prisoners and will appear in The Best Man Holiday come December 2013.
RC will keep you posted as the project continues to develop.
