The performers for this year’s Soul Train Awards were announced this week. Reportedly, the eclectic group of artists will pay musical tribute to the soul music sound of the 90’s and includes Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson, Eric Benet, and Kem. Soul Train Award nominees Tamar Braxton, K. Michelle, Joss Stone, Wale, Chrisette Michele, Ron Isley and R&B icon Smokey Robinson have also been tapped to perform during this year’s telecast.

As previously reported, nominations were announced last month with hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar leading the pack with six nods. Chris Brown, Miguel, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Janelle Monae and Tamar Braxton are all up for five nods as well.

“We are gearing up for a big show this year, and the performers set to take the stage are just the beginning of what’s to come. I hope everyone is ready because Centric is bringing the party to Las Vegas come November 8th,” said Paxton Baker, General Manager and Executive Vice President, CENTRIC. “We are forever grateful for the involvement of so many amazing performers and their loyalty to the Soul Train and Centric brands. Music is the core of Centric’s DNA and our diverse roster of new talent and legendary artists display our continued commitment to providing quality programming for soul music lovers.”

The Soul Train Awards will take place at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will be hosted by comedic actor Anthony Anderson.  The show will air on CENTRIC and BET at 9PM EST/PST December 1.
