It’s only natural that the #1 girl group of all time, TLC would break yet another record with their highly anticipated VH1 biopic, Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story, which aired on Monday night at 9p.m.
According to Indie Wire, the two and half-hour made for television film was VH1’s highest-rated original movie ever, capturing a total of 4.5 million viewers. The movie, which chronicled the rise of T-Boz, Chilli and Left Eye, also yanked #1 spot as the cable original movie of the year among adults and woman age 18-49 and generated close to two million tweets.
Reportedly, Jones appeared on Atlanta’s V-103 morning show and claimed that Pebbles (TLC’s first manager) removed her from the group because she refused to sign an agreement not because she couldn’t sing. Jones also said that she is looking into writing her own tell all book and like Pebbles, may take some legal action against the group and the movie because of its inaccurate portrayal.
RC will keep you posted on these two situations as they continue to develop. In the meantime, kudos to T-Boz and Chilli on the huge success of their film which will re-air Sunday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. followed by the Behind the Music: TLC remastered at 10:30 p.m. and the Last Days of Left Eye at 11:30 p.m.
