Kerry Washington and Diahann Carroll will double team as presenters at this year’s 65th Primetime Emmy Awards. The show will take place on Sunday, September 22 on CBS starting at 8 p.m.

According to Indie Wire, the two divas are part of four pairs of TV actresses that will present together for the evening. The other pairs include: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Deschanel, and Allison Janney with Anna Faris.

Washington is actually up for an award this year for her role in Scandal and is said to be the first Black actress nominated in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series since 1995. WHOA!

The other significance of the two presenting together is that Washington is also the first African-American women to lead an hour long dramatic series on a network in almost 40 years. Juxtaposed that fact next to Carroll being the first Black woman to star on a network with the comedy  series, Julia and the two ladies represent pivotal moments in Black History.

Kudos to Kerry and Ms. Diahann!
