African-born model/actor Djimon Hounsou has been cast in Fast & Furious 7, the next installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.
Variety reports most of the franchise’s top talent are returning for Fast & Furious 7, including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, producer Neal H. Moritz and writer Chris Morgan, with James Wan directing.
Producers are keeping Hounsou’s character and the sequel plot details under wraps, only revealing that that the film will return to Los Angeles after films two through five were set in other locations.
This May’s Fast & Furious 6 was the highest-grossing pic in the series, with $788 million worldwide!
Production for the film is underway, and it’s set for a summer 2014 release.
Hounsou can be seen next in Fox Searchlight’s Baggage Claim and follows that up with a busy 2014 that includes Legendary’s Seventh Son, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and How to Train Your Dragon 2.
