NBA superstar and New York Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony was honored for his activism in the community Wednesday night at New York City’s swanky hot spot The Griffin in the city’s Meatpacking District.
In honor of the Carmelo Anthony Foundation, Hennessy Privilège put together a wonderful night of festivities which included comedy from Jay Pharaoh, a few words of encouragement from legendary movie director Spike Lee, and support from dozens of Carmelo’s celebrity friends like rapper Fabolous, Adrienne Bailon, Vashtie Kola, Rocsi Diaz, Luke James, DJ Clue, and MackWilds.
Honored by the acknowledgement of his work, Carmelo graciously accepted his award and explained that he doesn’t give to get. Instead, he gives back to the community because he feels it grants him a real purpose on earth.
