Brandy chats with Tom Joyner about the South African debacle and wedding plans

Last week, we reported that superstar Brandy allegedly performed in a stadium-size venue in South Africa with less than 50 people in attendance. It was said that she was only on stage for two songs and then walked off.

Well now Brandy is calling the situation a big “misunderstanding” and claims the low attendance was due to a lack of advertising on behalf of the South African promoters.  She recently talked to the Tom Joyner Morning Show  about the embarrassing situation and set the record straight.  “They didn’t promote that I was going to be there, so it turned out the way it did,” she told the morning show host.

The Wildest Dreams  singer went on to say that the most important part about the trip was being there to support the opening of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital.

“My reason for being there was for a good reason and I performed for whoever knew and whoever didn’t know. They knew when I got on stage, and I think everybody knows now,” she said. “Things like that happen sometimes.”

On a lighter note, Brandy says that her wedding to fiancé Ryan Press is still a go but has been pushed back to next year due to her hectic touring schedule and shooting for her hit TV show, The Game.   As previously reported, the two were engaged last December but didn’t set an actual date. However, despite having a wedding planner on board, the single mother says it’s been rather challenging touring and planning for her nuptials at the same time.  “I didn’t realize how hard it was to plan a wedding. Even with a planner it’s hard.”
