Say it ain’t so!

Toni Braxton just can’t seem to catch a break these days. The Grammy-winning vocalist  has found herself in another dramatic situation that has caused her to lose rights to some of the songs she made into hits.

Here’s the rundown…

According to The Singer’s Room, Braxton signed a deal during her second bankruptcy filing that stated she would settle her debt by using her songs. In the deal, Braxton would also lose the rights to at least 27 songs from her catalog with a clause that says she could buy them back with $20,000.  Well, would you know it? Someone beat Braxton to the punch and outbid her for the songs. TMZ is reporting that Ross M. Klein double what Braxton would have paid and is now the current owner of the music.  Damn, really Ross? That’s cold-blooded!

Reportedly, some of the songs include “You’re Making Me High” and “How Many Ways.”  This story sort of reminds me of when Michael Jackson purchased the rights to the Beatles’ catalog in 1984, pissing off his duet partner and original Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney.

Anywho, let’s hope that Braxton can figure out a way to get her music back!

What do you think about Toni Braxton losing the rights to her music? Would you have purchased it if you had the money?
