Mo’Nique denies working with BET on a new show?

Despite a few reports stating that “Queen of Comedy” Mo’Nique was returning to BET for an untitled project, the academy-award winning actress simply says, “It’s not true.”

Apparently, HumorMill.com reported on July 1 that Mo’Nique and BET networks were working together on a new show. While there was no concrete information on what type of show it was, the website stated that the two were in pre-production and gearing up to shoot a pilot.

Well, someone must have told the Queen because she took to her Twitter account on July 2 denying the alleged project and new relationship with the network.

If you recall, BET cancelled her popular late night talk show, The Mo’Nique Show in 2011. The program aired for just two seasons and its reason for being cancelled still remains a mystery, even to Mo’Nique. She said this during a recent interview on Hot 97:

“I wish I could give you an answer. I honestly don’t know what happened with the Monique Show. You should maybe ask Ms. Debra Lee because I don’t wanna assume. I can’t give you an answer to that.”

So there you go, RC fans!  There will be no new Mo’Nique “show” on BET.  However, we will keep you posted if anything else develops with Mo’Nique (or) BET!

Would you like to see Mo’Nique back on prime time television?
