Despite being called The Love King, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Raheem DeVaughn admits to not being in love at the moment. The 38-year-old vocalist and radio host is gearing up for the release of his fifth studio album, “A Place Called Love Land” and says he’s ok to being an instrument used to cultivate love and relationships.

I’m not married or anything of that nature right now. I accept the responsibility and the gift that I have as an artist. I think I bring people together for love, ironically,” says DeVaughn.

“I don’t know where these songs come from, they just kind of come from the air and not necessarily from me but more or less thru me. That is the gift that I have and I accept, and I enjoy what it has to offer people and allow them to embrace it.”

DeVaughn is currently riding the wave of his recent hit singles, “Love Connection” as well as the smooth-jazz track “Maker of Love” with jazz saxophonist, Boney James.
