John Legend is the man!
Not only did he release a second single, Made to Love from his long awaited album this week but he has also signed a major deal with Showtime for a new scripted comedy about music managers.
According to Indie Wire, Legend and his Get Lifted Film Company are teaming up with Showtime for a half-hour comedy about music managers. The untitled project will take place in the world of high profile music managers and will be penned by Gossip Girl writer, Austin Winsberg, who will produced alongside Legend and his company.
As previously reported, Legend has already inked deals for three other TV projects including an untitled comedy on Fox, a crime drama on USA network, called The Edge and the HBO series, Down Lo, which takes a dramatic look at Miami’s South Beach nightlife including the heavy party scene, music, sports, fashion, models, money, cars, sex, fame and secrets.
All of these projects stem from a major deal inked last year between Legend’s Get Lifted Film Company and Universal Cable Productions.
