Tyler Perry talks ‘Madea’ animation, third series for OWN and possible talk show…

To say that Tyler Perry is the hardest working man in show business is an understatement. Between the plays, the two-films-a-year, the new television series and possible second movie studio, it’s no wonder Perry has become one of the most successful entertainers of our current generation. Like him or not, you can’t deny his ginormous appeal and pop cultural influence.

Perry recently talked to The Huffington Post  about expanding his multi-million dollar empire. Apparently, he is working on an animated project about his beloved character, Madea. While he would not give any major details about the idea, I can almost bet the cartoon character will be very similar to Disney’s Proud Family  matriarch Suga Mama. Am I the only one who misses that show?  (LOL)

Perry also revealed that he is moving For Better or Worse  to OWN and he is already working on a third show for the network that will join his other two series, The Haves And The Have Nots  and Love Thy Neighbor. He also expressed a desire to host a talk show that would be a mashup between Dr. Phil and Andi Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live.

Lastly, Perry discussed his new pet project, 34th Street Films. This is his newly installed production house that he used to support PEEPLES’ writer and director, Tina Gordon Chism.  According to Perry, this new company allows him to work with fresh talent as well as explore other film genres such as Sci-Fi and Horror.
