For quite some time now, we have been talking about the BET series-turned-original-movie, Being Mary Jane.

Produced by the creator of The Game,  Mara Brock Akil, Being Mary Jane  stars the beautiful Gabrielle Union as a successful, single television anchor of a one-hour national cable news network. Originally called Single Black Female,  Being Mary Jane  will premiere on July 2nd at 10:30 p.m. following The Game’s  season finale.

If you recall, Being Mary Jane premiered at the Urbanworld Film Festival last fall and also features the talents of Margret Avery, Richard Roundtree, Omari Hardwick and Tike Sumpter.

In other entertainment news, Indie Wire is reporting that singer-actress Keke Palmer (left) is joining the cast of DIRECTV’s newest drama series Full Circle. The show will examine human conditions and relationship through as series conversations between 11 people whose lives, unbeknownst to them, are intertwined. It further looks at true togetherness in a world driven by technology.

Full Circle  is being executive produced by Nick Hamm and will start production this summer with a premiere date in fall 2013.

Congrats to Gabrielle Union and Keke Palmer!
