Friends, family and staff gathered last Saturday night at ATL’s Aurum Lounge for the 40th birthday of music industry executive, Kawan “KP” Prather. The place was filled to capacity as partygoers danced to the sounds of DJ’s Cypher and Pnut.  A number of KP’s celebrity friends came out to help celebrate including super music producer Jazze PhaR&B Diva  star MonifahDJ Yolo, DJ Fadelf and emerging artists Tocarra Hamilton, Nunu and Renaldo. Usher and Big Boi served as the evening’s hosts.

Prather is the Senior Vice President, A&R for Atlantic Records and owner of Ghet-O-Vision Entertainment. He has helped orchestrate the stellar careers of some of the music industry’s biggest names including TLC, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Usher, Pink and Youngbloodz.

He has also worked alongside rapper T.I., signing him to his first record deal under his Ghet-O-Vision label and A&Ring his first studio album “I’m Serious” as well as his most recent smash studio album, “Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head.”  Prather has also served as Senior VP of AR at Island Def Jam and Executive VP of A&R at Sony Urban, Columbia Records where he worked with Omarion, Killer Mike, Destiny’s Child, and Beyoncé. He also signed R&B crooner John Legend.  The birthday bash was presented by The Barjon Group along with Jimmy Jones of TonightAtlanta.com.
