It’s no secret that funnyman Kevin Hart is hotter than fish grease!
He has a hit television show, a handful of movies in the works and record-breaking tours and now the comedian/actor is gracing the covers of EBONY magazine’s Annual Comedy issue & UPTOWN‘s Hollywood issue!
Check out the covers, interview highlights and photos from both issues below:
EBONY…
Being serious around family members and his lady:
“Regardless of how much I joke and play around, my family and my lady don’t respect that about me. I’m serious, because I’m responsible for their well-being. I take that very serious. When it comes time to get naked, I’m serious there, too.”
On why he doesn’t crack gay jokes:
“The repercussions for saying certain words are harsh, and careers have been shut down. I can understand how people could be affected by certain words and slurs. I get it. My way of showing respect is to not play around with it, not mention it, not joke with it at all. I understand how serious it is.”
On how he feels about making fun of the government:
“I’m afraid of the government. I watched Enemy of the State. That movie scared the s–t out of me. I keep my mouth shut.”
UPTOWN…
What Hart says about The Real Husands of Hollywood/“fakest reality show ever”
“I get that some women don’t know what to do after living in their man’s shadow for so long, particularly if he was famous,” Hart says in between greetings. “I get how they can be talked into doing things that will bring them money and fame. That’s what makes it so sad to watch some of those shows. I can’t believe those women want to be shown in that way!’’
Hart remains humble and pragmatic. He credits his success to the old saying of preparation meeting opportunity.
“The only way to show respect [for] what you do is [to] study the people who came before you (Redd Foxx, Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence),’’ Hart says. “You can’t be serious in this business without doing the work.”
