Comedic actress Kim Coles, best known for her role as the quirky but loveable character Sinclair James in the 90’s sitcom Living Single, reveals her battle with depression in a new one-woman show.

The full-figured beauty, who has struggled with career and financial challenges over the years, talks about her experience and her new message of hope and empowerment on stage in Oh But Wait, There’s More, which makes its New York debut this weekend.

“Nobody knows I had a breakdown,” she reveals. “I was always someone who said yes and any obstacle I could figure out my way around it, not thinking it was an obstacle. But there came a point when being tenacious was not enough. I didn’t know how I was gonna get out of it [depression] but I realized sometimes you need to break down to break through.”

Coles joins a number of celebrities who have secretly battled with depression including Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams, who recently spoke out about it last month.

Check out the rest of Kim’s story at RollingOut.com as well as Love and Hip-Hop’s Joe Budden, who covers this week’s issue:

Joe Budden’s on why he wasn’t opposed to doing “Love and Hip Hop”…

“You wanna make the most out of life. Life is short, “he says of why he ultimately did the show. “You wanna do as much as you can for as many people as you can. That’s just the person I’ve grown into. It wasn’t always the case. … But today, you evolve. Any new experience, opportunity or door that God puts in front of me to walk through, I’m gonna trust him and walk through [it.]”
