Hip Hop All-Stars, The Roots and Talib Kweli are scheduled to give Prince the royal treatment at a concert honoring the “Purple One” in March. The show is part of an annual spring fundraiser for New York’s famed Carnegie Hall and benefits music education programs.
“Prince is one of the most prolific songwriters in my collection,” said the concert’s organizer Michael Dorf. “He makes my Top 10 when I think about the artists who have truly shaped modern music.”
Other scheduled performers include Booker T, Living Colour, the Blind Boys of Alabama, DeVotchKa and Madeleine Peyroux. The event will take place on March 7 and tickets range from $48 to $150.
